Designing a slot game

First step is always a good idea to sketch your ideas out on pen and paper. I wrote down a few themes and chose the one that struck me most, lazy cats.

Next steps I'mthinking about the animation, which for now is still on paper, which I then took to Photoshop to create the keyframes. When I am finished with the base animations, the next step will be in AfterEffects for the effects that come...afterwards.

For now we have these 3 cuddly critters. The sleeping cat on the green background still an early WIP, I have one more animated cat and the WILD symbol in the pipeline. All need a few in-between frames to smoothen the animation out but for now will do. These will represent the high values and I've also created a few low value symbols, the idea being they are the cats' kibble.

I have put together a quick mockup of how the prototype slot game might look like once it's all put together. It helps to visualise and spot anything that needs fixing.
